K Flat Wagon

The following photo's and details were supplied by Stephen Williams that show the progress of him building his K Flat Wagons.

Photo kindly supplied by Stephen Williams

K Flat Wagon

The K Flat Wagon started with a sheet of 1/16 mild steel the same size as the deck and then build a frame of 25 x 6 mm mild steel, drilling all the holes for the w irons, tie down points etc before welding the frame together and onto  the deck sheet.  With the frame complete rivet on the coupler surrounds and the dummy corner brackets.  Next mount the W irons to the frame, make the axles and mount the wheels to them, fit the bearings and axle boxes and mount the lot to the wagon.

K Flat Wagon

This photo shows the 1/12 scale tractor loaded on the K Flat Wagon made by Stephen Williams.  The tractor is held on with some scale rope that Stephen learned to make to make the load more authentic.
